Shannon Bird Releases First TV Ad, “It Takes Bird”
Bird Campaign is First to Go Up on Broadcast
Westminster, Colorado – Today, the Shannon Bird for Congress campaign released its first TV ad of the campaign, “It Takes Bird.” The Bird campaign is the first to hit the airwaves in the race for Colorado’s Eighth Congressional District.

The ad follows Bird’s trajectory from growing up in a trailer park raised by a single mother, to fully funding Colorado public schools as the state’s most effective lawmaker. It also highlights her being the only candidate in the CO-08 race with a comprehensive plan to overhaul ICE and who is tough enough to take on Gabe Evans.
The buy builds on Bird’s strong momentum, including being by far the most labor-endorsed candidate in the race and the only candidate with support from ag and doctors’ groups, as well as key endorsements from the NewDem Action Fund, Blue Dog PAC, WelcomePAC, The Bench, EMILYs List, Elect Democratic Women, and nearly 200 leaders across the district and state. To date, the Bird campaign has raised 80% of its dollars in-state, and contacted over 20,000 voters on the doors, highlighting Bird’s grassroots strength as the only candidate positioned to beat Gabe Evans.
About Shannon Bird
Shannon was raised by a single mom and her grandmother, who dealt blackjack and used her tips to help Shannon get through college. They taught her how to work hard, give back and fight for what’s right.
With a passion for improving education for every student, Shannon started in public service by volunteering in her kids’ classrooms and co-founded an organization that empowers students, parents, teachers, and communities to create more equitable local schools. She led a bond measure campaign for the Adams 12 district in 2014 to fix and improve local schools, leading to her serving on the Westminster City Council and then in the Colorado State House, where she served for three years on the Joint Budget Committee.
Prior to serving in public office, Shannon worked in the private sector, practicing law in the fields of public and commercial finance, helping to get large community projects like roads, bridges, schools, and hospitals off the ground.
Shannon is committed to showing up for the people of Colorado’s 8th Congressional District, and working together to deliver real results for hardworking Coloradans and families – because that’s what she’s always done.
