Shannon Bird Outraises CO-08 Primary Field, Raises More Than Three Candidates Combined
Westminster, Colorado – With second quarter FEC reports filed on July 15, Colorado State Rep. Shannon Bird outraised the entire Democratic primary field after only six weeks in the race.
In addition to her commanding fundraising, Bird has earned the endorsements of more than 100 current and former elected officials and community leaders across Colorado – more than the entire primary field combined.
“I’m thankful for the outpouring of support across our district and state to flip this seat from red to blue,” Bird said. “Thanks to our strong early support, we are well on our way to firing Gabe Evans for voting to raise costs and rip away healthcare from Coloradans.”
Key Facts About CO-08 Q2 Reports
Shannon Bird raised over $446k in Q2 in just six weeks, outraising the entire five-candidate Democratic primary field – without taking a dime from corporate PACs.
Bird raised more than three of her opponents combined, including more than double that of former Rep. Yadira Caraveo.
Bird’s campaign reported a burn rate of 16%, while three of her opponents spent a respective 63%, 57%, and 49% of what they raised.
Over 70% of Bird’s donors are from Colorado, while two of her opponents reported raising significant funds from out of state.
